The Installation Process of Flat Roofing Systems
Flat roofing systems are known for their compact style and quick installation, making them ideal for those working on a tight schedule. To learn more about the construction process, read our handy installation guide.
Step 1: The roof structure is built.
Step 2: Our roofers lay timber joists across upright supports.
Step 3: Our Wokingham team cover the joists by securing 9-18mm OSB plyboard into place.
Step 4: Weatherproofing begins and consists of a traditional three-layer torch on a felt solution with a permeable air flow barrier.
Step 5: We follow this with a 2mm waterproofing felt and finish with a 5kg cap sheet, available in a choice of colours. Finally, drip edges and lead chases are installed to ensure the roof is completely watertight, even with obstacles such as skylights, soil stacks, and vents.
This process applies to all our flat roofs, from EPDM roofing to GRP fibreglass roofing.
